Who is Project Impact For?

  • Project Impact participation is for college age men and women between the ages of 17 and 24.

What Should I Expect?

  • While living with other Project participants, students will be required to get a day time summer job in which they maintain at least 20 hours a week (you keep what you earn) Monday-Friday.
  • In the evenings & weekends, you will spend focused time learning about, applying, and passing on the following skills and values:

How Do I Get Involved?

Project Impact runs from May 29 - July 30, 2010.  Projects will be held in two locations. Visit our Apply section for all the details of how to get involved!

PURPOSE:

 

To establish/strengthen a foundation of attitudes and habits in students' lives that will propel them in a lifestyle of discipleship and leadership.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

The Word of God- Begin to understand and apply God's word in every area of life.

  • Gain a conviction for the authority and reliability of God's Word.
  • Develop a daily habit of spending time alone with God.
  • Learn how to meditate on a passage of Scripture.
  • Learn how to memorize and review Scripture for retention.
  • Discover tools for and develop different methods of Bible study.

Evangelism- Develop conviction and skills for sharing the gospel with the lost.

  • Gain a conviction for sharing Christ with the lost.
  • Learn how to share the gospel in multiple, real life situations.
  • Memorize and learn how to share your personal testimony.
  • Learn how to work with a team to do team evangelism dinners/activities.

Prayer

  • Gain a conviction for the importance and efficacy of prayer.
  • Learn the basics fo prayer, including: types of prayer, proper motivation, prayer with others, and how and why God answers prayer.
  • Develop a daily pattern of personal prayer.
  • Spend daily time praying for roommates.
  • Learn about and engage in prayer walks.

Missions- Understanding and participating in God's global agenda.

  • Learn about unreached people groups and what God has done in the past and what He is doing in the world now.
  • Learn what the Bible has to say about missions.
  • Understand the current state of the world's need for the gospel.

Relationship Skills

  • Learn and begin to practice Heart Attitudes (these govern how we relate with each other individually and corporately).
  • Learn personal communication skills
  • Learn how to ask good questions.

Life Skills- Develop healthy patterns for wise living.

  • Learn how to practice strong work habits as shown in the way they keep their room, car, personal things, and in the way they serve others.
  • Learn how to maintain and utilize their appartment for ministry.
  • Learn to create and use a personal development plan for the fall.
  • Learn how to be an excellent employee.
  • Learn how to choose and be apart of a church community where they can grow and serve.

Ministry Skills

  • Learn how to lead a small group .

  • Learn to follow up new believers (helping them grow)

  • Learn how to plan and execute one-on-one  times.

Leadership Skills

  • Learn the foundational requirements of good leadership.
  • Learn a leader's sources of authority and areas in which they must demonstrate credibility.
  • Learn the tasks of a leader.
  • Learn how good leaders delegate.
